BATTERSEA POWER STATION

I set out to document a topic of concern to the residents of my neighbourhood, Battersea. The Battersea Power Station is undergoing a transformation from a monumental structure that supplied 20% of London with electricity to a luxurious assemblage of apartments for the affluent. To memorialise this, I intend to gather a great deal more information about the building before the renovation, as well as the reason for the renovation and changes to this historically significant location. I intend to visit the site and speak with the developers about the current development stage. I will photograph the building at various times and from a variety of perspectives, and I will also include the adjacent area so that it conveys a sense of community.
